Arc Raiders Officially Adds Duo-Queue Matchmaking and Lowers Cosmetic Prices Embark Studios rolls out duo matchmaking, price adjustments, and reassures players on cosmetic fairness following strong launch momentum

Embark Studios has officially rolled out duo-queue matchmaking to Arc Raiders — a long-requested feature that was quietly tested before being made public. Less than two weeks after launch, the developers have started fine-tuning matchmaking, pricing, and player feedback systems as the game continues to build momentum.

⚔️ How Duo Matchmaking Works

In their official post, Embark clarified that the new duo matchmaking system isn’t completely rigid, but it does aim to keep player groups balanced.

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • Duos are ideally matched with other duos.
  • Trios will typically face off against other trios.
  • Solo players are prioritized to play separately from groups.

That said, Embark warns that the system isn’t “100% guaranteed.” Depending on player availability and queue times, you might occasionally see mixed groups — for example, a duo facing off against a trio or a squad of solos.

The update marks one of the first post-launch quality-of-life changes for Arc Raiders, which continues to evolve rapidly based on community feedback.

💸 Cosmetic Prices Lowered, Refunds Issued

Listening to fan concerns, Embark Studios announced that cosmetic store prices will be reduced starting November 13.

Anyone who purchased items at their original prices will automatically receive refunds for the difference, ensuring early adopters aren’t left out.

The developers also reiterated that there are no pay-to-win mechanics in the game’s premium Raider Decks. These are limited strictly to cosmetic and convenience items — no gameplay advantages included.

Currently, one free Raider Deck is available to all players, with more free and premium options planned for future updates.

🧠 Addressing AI Voice Controversy

The Arc Raiders team recently faced backlash over its use of AI-generated voices. Nexon CEO Junghun Lee publicly defended the decision, stating that “every game company is now using AI” and emphasizing that the practice was implemented responsibly.

While opinions remain divided, Embark has continued to maintain transparency around how AI tools are used during development.

🚀 Server Updates and Player Growth

Despite early technical hiccups, Arc Raiders has maintained strong player engagement. The game reached over 264,000 concurrent players on Steam leading into the launch of its first major update, North Line, which is now live.

Embark also issued in-game compensation earlier this month for players affected by server instability — a move that was well received by the community.

🎮 Final Thoughts

Between duo matchmaking, lowered cosmetic prices, and quick responses to player concerns, Embark Studios seems dedicated to keeping Arc Raiders healthy and fair.

As new features roll out and the game continues to stabilize, it’s clear Embark is listening closely to player feedback — something that’s already paying off in growing trust and retention.
