Battlefield 6 Open Beta Schedule & Modes: Everything You Need to Know Early access begins August 7, followed by two open weekends with both Classic and Open weapons playlists
EA has confirmed the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, arriving in early August. This will be the largest beta test in series history, available across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Players can choose between classic class-limited or open weapon playlists based on preferences.
🗓️ Open Beta Dates & Access
- Pre-Load Available: Starts August 4
- Early Access (Battlefield Labs members or Twitch Drop recipients): August 7–8
- Open Beta Weekend #1: August 9–10 (public)
- Open Beta Weekend #2: August 14–17 (public)
You’ll need an EA Account linked to your platform to participate. Members of Battlefield Labs automatically qualify—others can gain early access by watching Streamer Demos via Twitch Drops.
⚔️ Featured Playlists & Modes
During the beta, two core playlist structures will be available:
- Closed Weapons Mode: Traditional class-specific loadouts (Assault, Recon, Support, Engineer)
- Open Weapons Mode: All weapons available to every class, providing more flexible loadouts
Both modes will coexist during beta and will continue to be supported simultaneously at launch based on player preference.
Popular multiplayer modes confirmed for beta and launch include:
- Conquest
- Breakthrough
- Rush
- Domination
- Escalation (new mode focused on strategic capture progression)
- Additional staples: Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, King of the Hill
🌍 Map & Feature Expectations
Maps span diverse global settings—from urban New York to a remastered Operation Firestorm (battlefield classic) and strategic zones in Egypt and Gibraltar. EA also confirmed the return of Battlefield Portal, now upgraded with advanced scripting, map editing, and user-hosted content tools.
Gameplay enhancements include the new Kinesthetic Combat System (introducing movement mechanics like drag‑and‑revive and weapon mounting), improved destruction, vehicle mechanics, 64-player lobbies, and context-sensitive animations.
