Black Ops 7 Removes Fan-Favorite Blackheart Map — Here’s What We Know
🔥 Season 1 Launches… and Blackheart Vanishes
Season 1 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone kicked off on December 4, bringing a massive wave of new content — weapons, modes, Operator bundles, and full Warzone integration for progression. It was supposed to be an exciting start to the season.
But barely two hours into the update, Treyarch pulled a surprising move: Blackheart was removed from matchmaking — both Public and Private playlists.
This wasn’t just any map. Blackheart was one of the 15 original launch maps in Black Ops 7, known for:
- Classic three-lane design
- Excellent balance for every weapon class
- Fast-paced matches without unfair choke points
For many players, it quickly became the go-to map since the game launched on November 14.
❓ Why Was Blackheart Removed?
Treyarch hasn’t provided specific details, but the official Call of Duty Updates account confirmed that the removal is temporary while the studio investigates an issue.
Players are left confused because the map seemed to be running smoothly before today:
- Comments on social media described it as “fine since launch”
- Multiple fans called it their favorite map
- Disappointment spread immediately after the announcement
And right now, there’s no timeline — just a promise that Blackheart “will return in an upcoming update.”
Given that Season 1 just dropped, we may be waiting a few days or longer before it returns.
🗺️ What to Play While Waiting
The good news? Black Ops 7 Season 1 is loaded with new places to explore. Four maps were added today — including a remaster — with even more arriving mid-season.
Current new map options include:
- Fate
- Utopia
- Odysseus
- Standoff (Black Ops 2 classic)
So while Blackheart is gone for the moment, there’s still plenty of content to keep matchmaking fresh.
👀 Could More Remastered Maps Be Coming?
Leaks suggest that Stakeout — the controversial close-quarters map from Black Ops 6 — could return in a future update.
Some players loved it for fast weapon leveling… others hated every minute of it. But if the data mine is accurate, another surprise could be joining the lineup soon.
🎯 Final Thoughts
Losing a fan-favorite map on the very first day of Season 1 wasn’t the news anyone expected. Blackheart’s strong design made it one of the best launch maps in Black Ops 7, and its sudden removal has understandably frustrated a lot of players.
Still, with the season packed full of fresh content — and Treyarch confirming Blackheart will return — the wait shouldn’t be too long.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for the next update and the map’s comeback.
