Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Showcases Prestige Rewards and Major Mastery Camo Overhaul Treyarch introduces a new Mastery Camo unlock system, customizable HUD themes, and a first look at Prestige rewards ahead of the Black Ops 7 launch

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 just around the corner, Treyarch Studios has shared another major update — this time focusing on Prestige rewards, camo progression, and user interface improvements.

In a new developer talk, Treyarch’s team discussed how player feedback has directly shaped this year’s systems, introducing a series of quality-of-life updates designed to make progression smoother and more rewarding.

🏆 Mastery Camos Get Easier to Unlock

Camo grinders rejoice — Mastery Camos are getting a massive overhaul in Black Ops 7.

Previously, players had to complete lengthy challenges for every weapon individually. But now, once you unlock a previous Mastery Camo on 30 weapons, the final Mastery Camo will unlock automatically across your entire arsenal.

This change drastically reduces the grind, allowing players to enjoy more of the game without burning out. It’s a move that has been widely praised by the community, especially those who enjoy chasing 100% completion goals.

💫 Prestige Rewards Revealed

Treyarch also pulled the curtain back on Prestige progression — including the first look at Prestige 1 icons and rewards.

Similar to Black Ops 6, each Prestige tier will include exclusive operator skins and weapon blueprints, giving players visual milestones to flex their achievements. Treyarch promises that each Prestige level is “packed with rewards”, ensuring steady motivation for grinders aiming for the top ranks.

🧠 HUD Customization and UI Overhaul

Another highlight from the dev talk is a complete HUD and UI refresh, bringing a more streamlined, customizable look across every mode — Multiplayer, Zombies, and Campaign.

Players can now:

  • Apply Zombies-themed HUDs across all modes for a darker aesthetic.
  • Toggle HUD elements to remove clutter and focus on what matters.
  • Create a distinct interface style for each mode, letting players personalize how their game looks and feels.

Treyarch emphasized that these updates are about player control and visual clarity, helping users adapt their gameplay experience to their personal preferences.

🔮 A More Player-Focused Black Ops

From redesigned Mastery systems to greater HUD freedom, everything Treyarch has revealed so far points to one goal: a smoother, more customizable Call of Duty experience.

With Black Ops 7 launching on November 14, 2025, players won’t have to wait long to start their climb through Prestige ranks and test out these new systems for themselves.
