Warzone Season 1 Perk & Equipment Overhaul: Every Change You Need to Know New perks, reworks, and major equipment updates are reshaping the meta for the BO7 era

With Black Ops 7 officially integrating into Warzone, Season 1 is introducing a massive shake-up to both perks and equipment. Raven Software is streamlining systems, clarifying perk identities, and giving players more meaningful loadout choices—while keeping Warzone’s fast, chaotic gameplay intact.

Below is a full rundown of every perk update and equipment change arriving with the new season.

🪖 New & Reworked Perks in Season 1

Season 1 brings the biggest perk restructuring seen in years. Wildcards are gone, perk categories have been reorganized, and several abilities have been redesigned to create clearer strengths and weaknesses.

Expect a more tactical meta with deeper decision-making before you even land.

🔥 Adaptive (New)

A versatile perk that changes its benefits based on your armor status:

  • Mobility boosts when damaged
  • Better weapon handling when fully plated
  • Audible trap warnings
  • Delayed enemy equipment triggers

⚡ Reactive Armor (Reworked)

  • Releases an EMP pulse when your armor breaks
  • Regenerates full plates if you disengage momentarily
Ideal for aggressive players who take frequent duels.

🛡️ Survivor (Reworked)

  • Grants one-shot protection from ballistic weapons when fully plated
  • Even works against sniper shots
A major counter to long-range downs.

💣 Bomb Squad (Buffed)

  • Now reduces killstreak damage in addition to explosives
  • Makes defensive loadouts significantly stronger

🏃 Sprinter (Reworked)

  • Full tactical sprint restored
  • Can reload during tac sprint
  • Reduced movement penalties while using equipment
Adjusted following the removal of default tac sprint in BO7.

🧗 Mountaineer (Buffed)

  • Faster ladder climbs
  • Combat rolls included
  • Reduced fall damage
    Perfect for vertical, movement-heavy players.

Note: Birdseye is not launching with Season 1. Devs confirmed it will likely return later, possibly as an event reward.

💥 Equipment Updates in Warzone Season 1

Warzone’s equipment lineup is also getting a major cleanup to reduce overlap and give each item a specific purpose.

New tools imported from Black Ops 7, designed for explosives and area denial.

💥 C4 (Updated)

  • Remote detonator removed
  • Faster and more responsive to use

🎯 Combat Axe (Returning)

  • Replaces Throwing Knives
  • Faster throwing animations for more consistent kills

🎒 Tactical Equipment Changes

Season 1 introduces several new tactical gadgets that dramatically shift recon and utility play:

🆕 Phantom Signal

  • Forces nearby enemies to emit sound cues for up to 10 seconds
  • Great for revealing Ghosted campers indoors

🆕 Psych Grenade

  • Emits hallucination gas
  • Creates decoy illusions and pings enemies on the mini-map
    Chaos guaranteed.

⚡ Flash Grenade (Updated)

  • Can now be “cooked” for additional bursts
  • Allows precise control when clearing buildings

💉 Stim Shot (Buffed)

  • Instantly removes Flash and Concussion effects
  • Helps counter aggressive utility stacks

🌫️ Smoke Grenade (Buffed)

  • Can now extinguish fire from Molotovs, Napalm, and lingering flames

🔧 Additional Updates From December 2 Patch

  • Wall jumping and a grapple hook tactical are debuting in select limited-time modes first.
  • Developers will closely monitor pick rates and community feedback for future tuning.
  • Season 2 is already planned to bring another major round of perk and equipment adjustments.

Raven’s long-term goal is clear:

Every perk, equipment choice, and loadout slot should matter.
