Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani recently addressed the social hub request on Reddit, saying:

“It's on the feature list for the next one.”

However, he cautioned fans not to expect it anytime soon. During a Discord discussion, Jorjani explained:

“We honestly are focusing on the here and now. [Helldivers 3] is hopefully many years away.”

This means players will have to wait a while before moving into a communal social space in the Helldivers universe.

Despite the lack of a social hub, Helldivers 2 continues to thrive, recently surpassing 500,000 concurrent players. Jorjani has mentioned that the majority of Helldivers 2 players enjoy the game “silently,” without providing much feedback.
