Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Launches Fox Hunt Multiplayer Mode With Latest Update Konami revives the spirit of Metal Gear Online with an all-new stealth-based multiplayer experience for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
It’s been over a decade since Metal Gear Online shut down, but Konami is finally bringing multiplayer stealth action back with Fox Hunt, a brand-new mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Launched on October 30, this update adds a fast-paced yet tactical online experience where players compete in cat-and-mouse encounters, testing their stealth, deception, and adaptability in true Metal Gear fashion.
Konami released a trailer showcasing Fox Hunt’s new systems, including advanced camouflage mechanics, deployable decoys, and dynamic map objectives that force players to adapt as matches progress.
🎯 What Is Fox Hunt Mode?
Fox Hunt is split into two online game types, each supporting up to 12 players and designed around Metal Gear’s signature stealth-versus-combat tension.
🐸 Survival Capture
Players must locate and capture Kerotan frogs across a multi-phase mission. As the match continues, the number of frogs decreases, ramping up the tension and forcing players into closer, more dangerous engagements.
🧭 Survival Intrude
A more aggressive take on objective play, Intrude tasks players with capturing and holding control zones. Like Survival Capture, the number of active zones dwindles as time passes, creating chaotic endgame fights and unpredictable momentum swings.
Both modes reward situational awareness, stealth movement, and clever use of decoys to outsmart opponents.
⚠️ Note: Fox Hunt does not support cross-platform play, but console players can host private matches with friends for organized sessions.
🕵️♂️ New Update Features
The 1.002.001 update doesn’t just introduce Fox Hunt — it also brings several new features and long-awaited quality-of-life improvements:
⚙️ New Additions
- 21:9 Ultrawide Support: Players with ultrawide displays (e.g. 3440×1440) can now enjoy an expanded field of view.
Cutscenes and menus remain in 16:9 for cinematic consistency. - Camera Distance Lock: A new option in “New Style” mode lets you fix camera distance for smoother gameplay.
- System Environment Viewer: A new in-game menu allows players to check their current system specs and settings.
🧩 Bug Fixes and Optimizations
- Improved overall performance stability across all platforms.
- Restored missing background music in select cutscenes.
- Fixed timing mismatches between actions and soundtrack cues.
- Corrected Raikov’s trigger issue in certain encounters.
- General gameplay and visual polish improvements.
🐍 MGS Delta’s Comeback Momentum
The Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake continues to build momentum. The game has already surpassed 1 million sales since its release earlier this year, reaffirming that the demand for classic stealth gameplay is stronger than ever.
Konami also confirmed that the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is in active development, though no release date or lineup details have been shared yet.
With Fox Hunt, Konami has effectively revived the essence of Metal Gear Online, bringing back the mix of tension, strategy, and stealth that made the series a multiplayer cult favorite.
The hunt is on — will you blend into the jungle, or become the prey?
