PlayStation Confirms New State of Play Event for September 24 Sony teases 35 minutes of updates, reveals, and a new look at Housemarque’s Saros

Just weeks after its 007 First Light showcase, PlayStation is back with another State of Play event. The presentation will take place on Wednesday, September 24, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CEST and promises 35 minutes of reveals, updates, and extended gameplay showcases from both PlayStation Studios and third-party developers.

🚀 Housemarque’s Saros Takes the Spotlight

Fans of Returnal will be happy to know that Housemarque’s upcoming title Saros will receive a five-minute gameplay demo during the event.

While Saros isn’t a direct sequel to Returnal, it builds on similar roguelike elements with some major differences. Players will be able to permanently upgrade loadouts, evolve weapons, and enhance suits to "come back stronger" after each run.

This marks the first deep dive into the game since its reveal earlier this year, and expectations are high following Housemarque’s breakout success with Returnal in 2021.

🔍 What Else to Expect

While Sony has kept most of the lineup under wraps, speculation is running wild. Here are some of the biggest rumors surrounding this week’s event:

  • Marvel’s Wolverine 🐾 – It’s been nearly four years since the game’s initial reveal, and many insiders believe it may finally resurface during this State of Play.
  • STALKER 2 (PS5) ☢️ – With its release date set for November 30, a showcase trailer seems almost inevitable.
  • Ghost of Yotei 👻 – As one of PlayStation’s biggest exclusives of the year, another preview ahead of its October 2 launch would make perfect sense.
  • Resident Evil Requiem 🧟 – With its early 2026 release window, fans are hoping Capcom drops another trailer.

📅 Mark Your Calendars

This September showcase looks poised to deliver a strong mix of AAA reveals, indie highlights, and fresh updates from PlayStation Studios. While Saros is the only confirmed title so far, the event could hold some of the year’s biggest surprises.

Be sure to tune in on September 24 and catch all 35 minutes of announcements as they stream live across PlayStation’s official channels.
