Call of Duty: WW2 Servers Restored for PC Game Pass Players After being pulled due to security issues, Call of Duty: WW2 is once again fully online for subscribers
Good news for fans of classic Call of Duty titles: Call of Duty: WW2 is back online for PC Game Pass subscribers. The 2017 shooter, developed by Sledgehammer Games, was temporarily removed earlier this year after security issues, but has now returned with its servers restored.
🕹 A Return to Form for Call of Duty
Released in 2017, Call of Duty: WW2 marked a shift back to boots-on-the-ground combat after the divisive Infinite Warfare. While it may not hold the same legendary status as Modern Warfare or Black Ops, many fans welcomed its addition to Game Pass earlier this year.
🔒 Why It Was Pulled
Not long after arriving on Game Pass, WW2 faced issues with RCE (remote code execution) hackers, which led to its quick removal from the Microsoft Store. These exploits made the game unsafe for players, forcing Activision and Microsoft to act swiftly.
📦 Back on Game Pass
With the issues resolved, WW2 is once again available to play as part of Xbox Game Pass. It joins a stacked lineup of Call of Duty titles now offered on the service, including:
- Modern Warfare 2 (2022)
- Modern Warfare 3 (2023)
- Black Ops 6 (the first entry to launch day-one on Game Pass)
Beyond Call of Duty, Game Pass also features other Activision-Blizzard classics such as Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and Diablo.
📝 Final Thoughts
The return of Call of Duty: WW2 is another win for Game Pass subscribers, adding more depth to an already impressive Activision lineup. With Microsoft continuing to roll out legacy titles, fans can expect even more classics to reemerge on the platform.
